Nazi Germany was a product, a creation, a brainchild, a ‘baby’ of one individual –Adolf Hitler. Therefore, you can not understand Nazi Germany without first understanding its Führer. Consequently, I devoted this chapter to a sufficiently detailed presentation, description and analysis of Adolf Hitler.
Adolf Hitler was the founding father of Nazi Germany and his book – the infamous “Mein Kampf” – became its foundation and its core, its source. In other words, all structures, decisions and actions of the Third Reich have their origin in that book.
Thus it can be (and often is) rightfully called “The Bible of National Socialism”. Consequently, the very first section of this chapter will deal with this all-important book.
To present and analyze Mein Kampf I will do what to my knowledge no other historian has ever done before – let Adolf Hitler himself speak. In other words, I will take the important content of Mein Kampf (not all its content is) verbatim and add my comments [in square brackets]. Thus the first section of this chapter is a debate (sort of) between me and The Führer.
Obviously, I will include into this section only those statements that are relevant to what he (and other Nazis) actually did. With the exception of his views on the “Jewish question” which I will compile, structure and present in the chapter on the Holocaust.
I will use be the “Stalag edition” as it is the only complete, unabridged, and officially authorized English translation ever issued by the Nazi party.
Translated by a now-unknown English-speaking Nazi party member, it was printed by the Franz Eher Verlag in Berlin for the Central Press of the NSDAP in limited numbers during the years 1937 to 1944.
Most copies were distributed to the camp libraries of English-speaking Prisoner-of-War camps, and thus became known as the “Stalag” editions (“Stalag” is contraction of the German word “Stammlager”, or POW camp).
It is well-known that Adolf Hitler not only did not believe in the value of astrology or numerology but actually severely persecuted practitioners of these “occult scientists” (especially after the infamous flight to England made by his deputy Rudolf Hess – the flight that was heavily influenced by astrological predictions).
True, neither astrology nor numerology is a science; however, sometimes these practices yield amazingly accurate psychological profile of the individual in. In this section I will present such profiles of Adolf Hitler. And make a case that he should have done both in his youth (it was possible to do it in both Vienna and Munich).
I will follow these as a detailed professional profile of Adolf Hitler. In other words, I will talk about what kind of leader and manager (political and military), orator (which is far more than just a public speaker) and a political entrepreneur he was. Obviously, I will list his most outstanding successes and his most spectacular failures.
Then I will present a personal profile of Adolf Hitler (developed using scientific tools and technologies – irrefutable facts, rock-solid logic and good old common sense). This profile will be based on what Hitler actually said and done and on the memoirs who knew him well.
Adolf Hitler was a criminal – no doubt about that. Very probably, the worst criminal in human history (although Stalin and especially Pol Pot might disagree). Hence, I will include into this chapter a complete list of crimes committed by Adolf Hitler.
And will explain why, if captured and tries, he should have received the death sentence (I am a firm opponent of capital punishment hence I would have voted for LWOP – life in prison without the possibility of parole).
I am Roman Catholic (and I have already confessed that I wrote this book first and foremost for myself). So I inevitably included into this chapter a section that analyzes Adolf Hitler, his personality, decisions and actions from a Christian perspective (you will be surprised with the results – I promise).
I am confident that this section will be useful not only for Christians (Catholics, Protestants, Orthodox, etc.) but for every reader regardless of his or her religious views. For a very simple reason – it will explain why so many Christians were so supportive of Nazi Germany and Adolf Hitler personally.
I will conclude this chapter with a section on how others (not only his contemporaries) saw Hitler. In other words, this section will include quotes about Hitler by politicians, military commanders, civic leaders, journalists, historians, etc. I promise – you will be surprised.
Obviously, I will use only those opinions (both positive and negative, of course) that I will deem to be sincere (this book is a work of history, not political propaganda).
